H.E Mr. Dharmapala Weerakkody, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Bangladesh, paid a courtesy call on FBCCI Administrator Mr. Md. Fazlul Hoque on 16 September 2026 at FBCCI’s Gulshan office, Dhaka. 

During the discussion, the High Commissioner briefed the Administrator on the upcoming international trade fair "Sri Lanka Expo 2027," scheduled for January 14–17 in Colombo, and invited FBCCI to lead a Bangladeshi trade delegation to the event.

FBCCI Administrator Mr. Md. Fazlul Hoque expressed a positive response regarding the participation of a Bangladeshi business delegation at the expo to enhance bilateral trade relations.

FBCCI Secretary General Mr. Md. Alamgir and senior diplomats from the Sri Lankan High Commission were also present during the meeting.
