Joint Business Council Urged to Boost Bangladesh-UAE Trade

On September 29, 2026, FBCCI Administrator Mr. Md. Fazlul Hoque met the Consul General of Bangladesh in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Mr. Md. Rashedujjaman, at the Consulate General of Bangladesh in Dubai. The discussion stressed on boosting bilateral trade and investment between Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

During the discussion, the Consul General Md. Rasheduzzaman, has called for the swift establishment of a joint business council between Bangladesh and the UAE to deepen economic ties and streamline trade. He mentioned that such a council would foster B2B collaboration while simplifying VISA procedures.

Administrator Md. Fazlul Hoque pledged full support from FBCCI to fast-track the initiative. He spotlighted expanding Bangladeshi exports, particularly Halal products, across the Middle East and beyond. Mr. Hoque called for a coordinated diplomatic and business outreach to diversify Bangladesh’s export market.

Mr. Ashish Kumar Sarkar, Commercial Counsellor of Bangladesh in Dubai, informed that the BGMEA is going to organize an international fair in Dhaka. Major enterprises from Dubai have already expressed interest in attending the upcoming readymade garment exposition. In light of this, he advised the event organizers to formally extend invitations to these prospective companies.
