An insightful consultative session on the proposed amendments to the Company Act, 1994, was convened on 7th September 2026 at FBCCI, Dhaka. The symposium was presided over by FBCCI Administrator Mr. Md. Fazlul Hoque. Honorable Commerce Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir graced the event as the chief guest.

Addressing the meeting Commerce Minister said that the government wants to modernize the country's company law in line with the needs of the present time. He added, we have sought clear opinions and recommendations from private-sector entrepreneurs and business leaders to make the existing company law modern and business-friendly.

Mohammad Mostafa Jamal Haider, director general (joint secretary) of the Trade Organisations Wing of the Ministry of Commerce, presented the draft proposal, titled “Company Act, 1994 (Third Amendment-2026),” while former MCCI President Barrister Nihad Kabir presented the proposals on behalf of the private sector.
